“Forget about the Kayaking- I’ll be back for the Salmon Berry Cobbler!!!”
Single Day Kayak Fishing
Fishing from a Kayak is fast becoming the hottest way to catch fish. From Resurrection Bay to Cape Aialik, from the Chiswell Islands to Harris Point; we have some of the best inshore kayak fishing in the world!
The cold coastal waters that fill the bays and meet the Kenai Peninsula teem with life. Each summer, long hours of sunlight combine with winds and currents to create a nutrient-rich environment that supports a multitude of fishes. Light tackle enthusiasts will enjoy targeting several species of Salmon, monster Halibut, voracious Ling Cod and an endless attack of Rockfish.
We fish from a fisherman-friendly style of kayak called a sit-on-top. S.O.T. kayaks are wider than a typical touring kayak, which provides the angler a very stable and comfortable ride. Most fishing is done close to shore and around craggy islands in depths from 20 to 200 feet. Varied techniques are implemented. Trolling and mooching for salmon or bouncing jigs on or near the bottom for rockfish and halibut are proven methods to catch an Alaskan trophy.
In addition to the spectacular fishing, you will experience a region rich in wildlife and scenery. The local waters support populations of seals, sea otters and Orcas, and attract distant wanderers like 35-ton humpback whales and countless migratory seabirds.
Beginners encouraged and experienced angler’s welcome. No previous paddling skills are needed. We feature small groups and we are committed to using only the highest quality equipment on all of our trips. Our friendly and experienced guides love to fish and they love to help people experience the kind of fishing they only dream about.
*This trip is not a freezer filling adventure. We will keep a few fresh fish for the table but promote Catch & Release*
