Kayak and/or Paddleboard amongst massive icebergs, camp with the sound of waves crashing and views of
a surreal glacial lagoon.

Difficulty Level

Camping on Bear Lagoon Beach outside of Seward Alaska is a trip in itself.  Be as active as you wish- hike and beach comb a 3 mile long gulf of alaska beach, kayak all day up to the face of Kenai Fjords largest glacier, or paddle board around massive icebergs.

This trip is beyond radical.  Our cache of boats and boards are right at the edge of the lagoon, giving us easy entry into the spectacular beauty of Bear Glacier Lagoon

Upon arrival at our camp, we'll unload our gear and hop in the kayaks or on top of the paddle boards to start exploring.  We'll immediately be padding in another world of massive icebergs, islands, waterfalls and the bluest glacier ice anywhere.  After a nice long day paddling in the lagoon we'll be back at camp getting ready for an amazing dinner followed by beach combing and possibly an evening ocean sup/kayak to stark rock protrusions along the rugged coastline.

The following morning we'll wake up, have breakfast, and if the group feels like it, we can take a liesurely morning paddle in a kayak or SUP before we head back on the boat.

This is an affordable and amazing way to spend quality time in the Alaskan backcountry outside of Seward. Think of lounging on the beach at night and listening to the ice roll and calve, all while the ocean swells crash behind you on the beach. Absolutely Alaskan in everyway!

Evening Prior: We invite you to a pre-trip evening meeting at the Liquid Adventures shop in the small boat harbor. You’ll meet your trip leader and fellow paddlers and we will briefly discuss logistics and answer any last minute questions.

We also offer a guided rental option for those who wish to have just the kayaks and guide.  This price is $625pp which is also based on 2 paddlers. Please call to book this option.

**Please keep in mind that this is a sample itinerary and may change depending on the weather, tides and individual paddling ability, but the highlights will remain the same**

A great way to get into camping

This trip is great for new and experienced campers alike.

We make the meals and provide the expertise so that you can enjoy the environment around you.

Photography

We use sit-in kayaks for this trip. You can have your camera around your neck or in a dry bag — we do have water-tight compartments in all of our sit-in kayaks for you to store your gear, but it can be hard to access these compartments while on the water.

Remember; you are on water! You are ultimately responsible for keeping your awesome camera gear dry!

Other Details

It's important to bring comfortable and warm clothes to wear under your drysuit to ensure that your experience is as pleasant as possible.

We highly recommend that you avoid wearing cotton or denim layers.

The Journey to Bear Glacier

HIDE

Cruise to Bear Glacier in a Modern Jetboat

From our office, it's a short walk down to where our jet boat is moored in the harbor.  You, the rest of the group, and your guide will load up our gear on the Ghost Marmot and quickly cruise up the west shoreline of Resurrection Bay.

On the way there is opportunity to see whales, porpoise, sea otters, puffins, and other marine life. When we arrive just outside the entrance to Bear Glacier's Lagoon, the captain guides our powerful boat up the river channel and anchors us on the beach by our cache.

From here, It’s just a short paddle to the lagoon and icebergs.

Important note:

The jetboat ride can be bumpy! While we do everything we can to mitigate
the motion of the ocean, please keep in mind that this is an adventurous trip —
we work with the rain, wind, and chop however it presents itself.
