May 15th - Early September
Half Day Wildlife Viewing Tour in a Small Group with a Naturalist On Board
Experience the best of Resurrection Bay and the rugged edges of Kenai Fjords National Park on this immersive half-day boat tour from Seward.
About Our Vessels
All of our vessels for this trip feature enclosed cabins for comfort, but they also have outside spaces for viewing spectacular scenery and wildlife.
These are vessels that hold 6 passengers + 2 crew
The Guided Difference: Dedicated Naturalist On Board
Unlike many standard boat tours where the captain doubles as the narrator, every cruise features a dedicated onboard naturalist interpreter alongside our licensed captain. While the captain navigates and positions the vessel for the best angles, your naturalist is right there with you on deck—spotting wildlife, sharing in-depth ecological insights, answering questions, and providing engaging, personalized interpretation throughout the entire journey.
Because wildlife moves and sea conditions shift, our route stays flexible to take you wherever the action is best.
What You Might See
Marine Wildlife: Humpback whales, killer whales, or fin whales, Dall’s and harbor porpoises, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters.
Coastal & Land Animals: Coastal brown or black bears foraging the shoreline, mountain goats on steep sea cliffs, and jumping salmon.
Bird Life: Nesting puffins (both horned and tufted), bald eagles, cormorants, and massive seabird colonies.
Glacial Landscapes: Towering alpine glaciers hanging above the bay, sheer granite fjords, cascading waterfalls, and drifting icebergs near Bear Glacier beach.
Key Sights & Destinations
Kenai Fjords Coastal Boundary & Bear Glacier: Take in sweeping views of the park’s largest glacier and the icebergs that frequently drift along the outer beach.
Mid-Bay Islands: Cruise the dramatic shores of Fox, Hive, and Rugged Islands to scout sea lion haul-outs and calm feeding coves.
Cape Resurrection & Spire Cove: Marvel at towering sea stacks, deep sea caves, and high-volume bird nesting cliffs along the outer coastline.
The Emerald Coast: Explore quiet, lush green shorelines and hidden coves away from the standard big-boat traffic.
Please note: We reserve the right to modify our route or cancel departures in the event of severe weather or rough sea conditions.
